Culture Japan Smart Doll – Prowess

INTRODUCTION

Way back before Prowess was released, I’ve always wanted to create a Smart Doll that had African tribal face paint so I started to research on the Internets. I learned that symbols could represent different tribes, groups or rank but they were used differently depending on the tribe and thus I didn’t manage to find anything that I would reference.

Some movies depict characters with tribal paint but much of it was a mix of interpretations to look good on the big screen. I wanted something accurate and not just my own interpretation. After a long time of research, I decided to go with something that I could not go wrong with – thick cat whiskers!  
The real reason why she has heterochromia however is because I couldn’t decide between green and blue – as I took one eye out to exchange them for an umpteenth time, I put in the other color to see what odd eyes looked like and bobs your uncle.
